Day 48: Sapa to Hanoi

We arrived at the hostel at 5am and had to sit around until check-in at noon.Once checked in we showered and watched Moneyball. I surprisingly wasn’t that tired so didn’t really nap.

Later on that evening we met up with Marco’s friend Eric, and his friend Ben. It was nice to talk to some fellow Americans doing the Asia traveling trip. We headed to a local beer café which are found throughout Hanoi. Locals sit outside on little stools chatting and drinking locally brewed beers. They only cost about 7 cents a glass. We were joined by a local man smoking out of a huge bamboo pipe. He couldn’t really communicate with him very well but it a fun experience. We asked for some food and were given this disgusting plasticy tasting thing that none of us ate. We gave one to our friend from England who we ran into, he was revolted by it. We ate dinner at a place nearby before calling it a night.
