北京植物园: Beijing Botanical Gardens

Woke up and skyped with Marco for a while. We had a lazy start to the day. Cleaned up my closet and got up to date on things. At 2:30 Katie, Heather and I left for the 北京植物园 - Beijing Botanical Gardens. We had to ask three cab drivers, since the first two didn't know where it was.

The gardens themselves only cost 2.5 kuai to get in. Not bad! We didn't go to the Tropical Conservatory though because that cost 40 kuai. So walked around for about 2 hours. We went to the Rose Garden, which was definitely my favourite. There were huge lakes in the area, and tons and tons of trees. It really was beautiful. Most of the locals seemed to come and camp out for the day.  A lot of them had tents and picnics. Also there weren't many foreigners, as in, I didn't see any other foreigners. Fortunately there were lots of flowers to look at, so we didn't get as many stares!

Cutest puppies ever, eating a muffin?

We headed back and grabbed some dining hall for dinner. Then Katie and I watched The Cove, an amazing documentary about dolphin slaughtering in Japan. It is so gruesome and awful what they do to these dolphins. You must watch it!
