Beijing: Saturday September 4th

-We all met one of the teachers in the lobby to be walked to our breakfast. Pork dumpling things for breakfast? I really liked it, Katie and Rachel not so much. Plus they had coffee, so I was very happy.

-Received another folder of information, and basically had boring orientation at the hotel with unnecessary details (except we are supposed to 'test' our alcohol limit?).

-After orientation we had a pizza party. It was more a buffet of all types of food. They even had a keg? The chicken sticks were really good.

-Went to Wudaokou, the big foreigner area. It was like a test to see if we could get there by the metro. Success. We were supposed to do this scavanger hunt, but instead ended up walking around and everyone bought cell phones.

-We all rested for a while then we took the subway back to Wudaokou. Went to LaBamba, a mexican restaurant, with some people from the hall. It was yummy, a little stressful though since I had to use my very limited Chinese to tell them they overcharged us for a burrito (definitely do not know the Chinese word for that). So after a couple of margaritas, we headed to 7-11 to buy some cards. Eventually we ran into more people from the program.

-While waiting outside a very drunk Chinese man told me I look like Britney Spears. Ok.

-Went to Propaganda, a very big bar for foreigners. It was fun, but we later learnt it is rumored that their alcohol is fake. You feel super cool though because you get all these V.I.P. cards just for being foreign.

-Then went to Solutions, another bar close by.

-Then went to Mango, another bar. I made friends with some Russian girls, someone called Lama?

-Then went to Global.

-Finally went back home around 3:30am, successful first night out. Basically just met a bunch of people on the program and had a fun time.
