Tuesday Sept 14th: The Bridge Cafe

-We learnt last night that we could switch classes without taking a test. The best of news. Unfortunately we still had to attend our 8am-12pm classes. However, our Hanyu class was much better today, we actually learnt new stuff. After that we grabbed some lunch with Heather and Rachel.

-We then had to go to the elective registration place to switch our classes. We ended up waiting in line for a long time, looking at the next textbook for a while, then deciding not to move at all. It wasn't that we couldn't do the next level, it would just be so challenging. We would have to look up so many words and work all the time. Basically we would have no time to explore China. Plus we basically understood nothing in our Chinese class last semester, so could use the review.

-Then, just because we're difficult (hen mafan), we decided to switch out 3 hour elective to International Communications with a Focus on China. It just looked better (and sounded tons easier!).

-I received a phone call saying that my package would arrive at Beida tomorrow morning! It made my day. Katie headed to the  gym. I lazed around, did some work, and started watching Season 3 of True Blood, bad decision. It's addicting.

-Then we decided our stomachs had had enough Chinese food. It's actually quite painful. My stomach completely isn't used to eating Chinese food everyday and it hurts, a lot! Hen bu shufu. We treated ourselves to a dinner in Wudaokou. We went to The Bridge Cafe where I had an American breakfast for dinner, my favourite.
*Note: In China, if your order multiple pizzas, they do not all come out at the same time. Our table ordered 3 pizzas and only one came out, so we were like 'maidan' (check). And the waitress was like, "you still have two pizzas!" Luckily they have dabaos here (the Chinese equivalent of a doggie bag).
